Virgil C. Johnson, Professor Emeritus at Northwestern University, will discuss costume design as part of Trinity University’s Stieren Arts Series. As a professional costume designer whose career in theatre spans more than 45 years, Professor Johnson has designed costumes for over 100 productions at theatres across the country. His interests also extend to historical dress; from 1978 to 1990, he served as guest curator of costume for the Evanston Historical Society. Please join us in our Stieren Theater for Virgil’s lecture on the costume designer’s role in recreating history on stage, followed by a reception in our theater lobby. And please return to view his costume designs on stage in Our Country’s Good, opening November 14th, 2014.
