This celebration is a cultural as well as a religious event . There is no sermon, and this event is conducted entirely in the German language. The Christmas Story is simply told through Scripture, prayers, German Christmas poetry, congregational and choral singing and instrumental music. Both the Beethoven Maennerchor and the San Antonio Liederkranz choirs perform, and Dr. David Heller, the Trinity University organist, accompanies them. Over the years, this has become one of the most important German Christmas celebrations in our multi-cultural San Antonio area.

“Die Deutsche Weihnachtsfeier”, is open to the public, and admission is absolutely free.
